1922 cinema newsreel (silent). In dire muddy conditions at Cardiff, Wales runs roughshod over “the wearers of the rose” from England. The wretched conditions made handling the heavy greasy ball near impossible, and the forwards in particular turned to using their feet. Note the method of throw-in from touch, and the ball being placed for a goal kick by a ‘holder’. (Duration: 1m05s)
